Malacological collections

The historical collection includes 2,071 specimens for 683 species, many from exotic sources.

Over the years, the museum has acquired the collections of Enrico Antichi (1,166 specimens of 695 species of the genus Conus from all over the world), Gianfranco Chesi’s (531 species), Giorgio Lazzari’s (100,000 specimens of at least 3,500 terrestrial and dulciacquicolous species from the Palearctic and Australasian, much of it from Emilia-Romagna in particular), Paolo Albano’s (62 species from the Ravenna and Bologna areas), and Edgardo Bertaccini’s (8 species of bivalves and 20 of gastropods from the Ravenna and Forlì-Cesena provinces).
