Palazzina Marfisa d’Este: lectures and guided tours

From Thursday, September 11, 2025

Lectures and guided tours on the occasion of the reopening of the Palazzina Marfisa d’Este.

On the occasion of the reopening of the Palazzina Marfisa d’Este, the Civic Museums of Ferrara are offering a rich program of cultural initiatives aimed at learning more about the history of the building and its protagonists.

A series of eight thematic meetings, organized in collaboration with the association Ferrariae Decus, will accompany the public to discover the artistic and cultural heritage related to Marfisa d’Este. The appointments will be held at the Conference Room of Museo Schifanoia (via Scandiana 27), always at 5 p.m. Through talks by restorers, university professors and researchers, topics ranging from Marfisa’s relationship with music to the sixteenth-century decorations of the Palazzina, from Ferrarese ceramics to the installations curated by Nino Barbantini, and finally to the portraits of the noblewoman and her connection with Torquato Tasso, will be addressed. A unique opportunity to rediscover, through never-before-seen perspectives, one of the symbolic places of the Ferrarese Renaissance and the fascinating figure of Marfisa d’Este.
